Malcolm’s Dining Room at The Birches at Ben Eoin Country Inn is available to both guests and the general public who wish to enjoy elegant dining in an intimate and unhurried environment. We are only a 1.2‑km walk from the docks at the Ben Eoin Marina. The menu offers a wide variety of selections in all three categories — appetizers, entrees and desserts. Our guests are encouraged to relax and take their time while they experience fine food prepared when ordered and presented uniquely.
Our dining room, named after the innkeeper and his grandfather, is fully licensed. A sorbet course is included with your meal which may be served on our pottery dishes made by a Cape Breton artisan.
In consultation with the chef, Kim Madsen, the innkeepers have had personal input regarding many of the dishes featured on the menu. Whenever possible, local ingredients — purchased daily — are used to ensure quality and freshness. With prior notice, we are prepared to address the needs of those who have special dietary requirements.
Advance reservations by 4 pm are recommended for evening dining.
Reservations are now available 5 pm until 8 pm seven days a week until October when Malcolm's will be open from Tuesday to Saturday for the Fall and Winter months.
